These posters and broadsides were all designed and illustrated with an old version of Macromedia FreeHand for different literary events. I haven't yet shelled out the money for a new version of Adobe Illustrator, but I like FreeHand—I've been using it for the last twenty years. I use Adobe Photoshop to work with raster images where I need to, an ancient version of course, because I haven't yet shelled out for the new version. If I did design for profit, new programs would be a must, but I do this work as department service and as favors to friends, and because I like to make things.
